generic-smooth is a tooth anatomy library for exocad DentalCAD that presents the standard generic tooth set with softened occlusal relief and reduced micro-detail. In the DentalCAD workflow it is selected in the tooth library step and proposes an initial morphology with gentler cusps and fissures, which is easier to adapt to a thin antagonist contact or to a restoration that will be characterised by hand.

Because the surface is calm, the result mills cleanly and requires less post-processing on small burs and polishing wheels. The library suits monolithic zirconia and PMMA temporaries where heavy occlusal anatomy is undesirable, as well as cases where the technician prefers to cut the final morphology after try-in.

It is equally useful as a baseline that can be morphed toward a more expressive anatomy later. The library can be downloaded and used alongside other tooth libraries in DentalCAD.
